Conscious Guilt
For years, emotional abuse was self-inflicted, fueled by the weight of persistent bullying. The pain began in elementary school and has continued into adulthood, leaving a lasting imprint. The harsh words from others were internalized and replayed, until they became a constant part of the inner dialogue. Over time, this negative self-talk shaped a mindset of despair, spiraling into severe depression.
In this state, everything—no matter how small—was met with a harsh counterpoint. The cycle of negativity became all-consuming, and the desire to feel nothing at all overtook the need for self-preservation.
This series reflects the impact of emotional abuse, the struggle between the self and the damaging words of others, and the painful journey of overcoming a deeply ingrained sense of worthlessness.
